silent reading club.

bring a book. grab a drink. read a book.

Love reading but somehow never seem to find enough time to actually do it?

Welcome to The Common Room Silent Reading Club.

Once a month, we get together on a Saturday morning, put our phones away and spend an hour doing something wonderfully simple:

Reading.

No assigned book.
No discussion questions.
No required reading.

Bring whatever you're currently into, find yourself a comfortable spot and enjoy an hour of uninterrupted reading alongside other book lovers.

And yes, we'll actually be quiet. 😂

how it works

10:30 - arrive & settle in

come in, grab a drink, find yourself a spot and have a chat with the other readers.

10:45 - we read

phones away.
Books open
One glorious hour of uninterrupted readING.

11:45 - chat

We'll come back together for the last 15 minutes.

Stay for a chat, tell us what you're reading, swap recommendations — or simply pack up your book and head off into your Saturday.

No pressure.

BRING WHATEVER YOU’RE READING

Novel.

Memoir.

Thriller.

Romance.

Fantasy.

Biography.

Graphic novel.

Kindle.

Audiobook and headphones.

We don't care how you read. We just want you to have time to do it.

LITTLE READERS ARE WELCOME TOO

Got a child who loves reading? Bring them.

Children who are happy to sit and read quietly are very welcome to come along with their grown-up.

Bring their current book, comic, graphic novel or Kindle and they can have their own hour of reading alongside us.

You remain responsible for your child throughout the session — this isn't a supervised children's activity — but we love the idea of grown-ups and younger readers sharing the room together.

Because book people come in all sizes.
